Are you aware of the extent to which the untold advances in IT have totally redesigned air travel and hospitality in the past decade or so? The driving force behind this is New Jersey native Nicholas Bredimus. This creative man has become a standout in a great many areas, from the high-value home design market through the essentials of safety in the air and computer programs to help with time management. And what’s more, through it all, his emotional drive shines through. Anyone could have foreseen, mind you, that given his family history he was always likely to reach distinction. Traceable as far back as the days of Rome, Bredimus’ lineage ties in with multiple countries within Europe. Within the maternal branch he can boast Scottish and German ancestry. England and Luxembourg, meanwhile, provided home to Bredimus’ paternal line, although during the 1800s his family would emigrate. Having arrived in the US, the family still strove to climb to the top. One of seven children, Nicholas was born to a father who worked as a mechanical design engineer and a mother who earned her living as a nurse. Nicholas went on to live in the Lone Star State for a number of years as well as in Scottsdale, AZ, Kansas City, MO and Reston, VA. What did Bredimus do to capitalize on his upbringing and studies? He would soon embark on a series of high powered posts, each one working with major airlines. Republic Airlines, Hughes Airwest, Trans World Airlines (TWA) — all three would at various times respectively name him vp. A dedicated programmer, Bredimus’ creative work with airline computer programs is most likely his greatest contribution to the industry.

He is best known for one particular project, his airplane maintenance applications that come into use by almost all air carriers. He went on to program several other computerized solutions for the hotel and airline sectors both before and after, among them unmanned software to deal with flight reservations, now in use at fifty or more airlines, as well as the original pc based room reservation software for the hotel sector, first activated at more than 700 venues. He went on to code a system tagged QuikTix, an automated ticket sales network. Albeit this is his strong suit, Mr Bredimus has also frequently worked in non-software areas. With his own business — Bredimus Systems — overseeing IT for American Express, and as the founding president of AMR Travel Services his career is remarkable. And is he still active? Decidedly so — his intelligence is ready to answer the call regardless his leaving prior interests behind. You can find his work now mastering building design — balancing the needs of aesthetics with real concern for the ecology. Further proof (if proof were needed) of what a dedicated drive can accomplish.
